February 17, 2012 (Leesville, LA) – The Chief Instructor Pilot has authorized the use of the iPAD device, coupled with the ForeFlight aviation planning software, as a primary reference for navigational charts. The iPad/ForeFlight combination will replace bulky paper charts in the aircraft and will reduce weight and reduce pilot workload.

The paper navigational charts are cumbersome and labor intensive to maintain. Each chart has a specific update cycle, some as often as 28 days ant which point the paper charts become unreliable and must be replaced. The new iPad/ForeFlight combination can access the navigational data for the entire United States remotely via 3G cellular service or a WiFi hotspot and can also download the navigational data automatically and store it for times when 3G/WiFi access may not be available, such as in flight.

The iPad/ForeFlight combination is currently in use by some major airlines and is a great step towards a more efficient cockpit and PAA is proud to be a leader in the flight training industry with by utilizing this new and exciting technology.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Flight School Aims to Improve Quality of Life for Instructor Pilots

LEESVILLE, LA (July 1, 2011) – Today Captain J.R. Lynch, President of Professional Aeronautics Academy, authorized the new Flight Instructor Pay Scale, which significantly increases salary pay and quality of life for Flight Instructors.

In an attempt to increase professional opportunities and retain quality Instructor Pilots, PAA executives went back to the drawing board. “We want to be able to offer our Instructors a good salary, free training for personal and professional development, a better quality of life, and a positive work environment, so that they want to stay and grow within the company,” voiced the Vice President and Company Administrator, Mrs. Denise Jackson.

“By offering competitive pay, we hope to retain Instructor Pilots and offer them better opportunities to progress in our company as well as be a respected member of our industry,” said Captain Lynch. The new and improved pay scale has increased up to $8,000.00 per year in some areas, making PAA Instructor Pilots some of the highest paid flight instructors in the country. PAA has made it a promise to set higher standards for instructors’ quality of life and to always make the pay scale public so that Instructors can have a visual idea of their future earnings within the company.

Additionally, with the new pay scale, the President authorized the new gains sharing program, which allows certain qualified employees to receive a percentage of the school’s revenue based on specific performance criteria. “It has been thought for too long that the only way to earn a living in aviation is to be an airline pilot, and we want to start shifting the paradigm. There are thousands of talented instructors who only work for the airlines as an attempt at a decent living. With this new pay scale we hope to retain that instructional talent, provide a more satisfying career opportunity for some, and provide superior training to future students,” stated Captain Lynch.

The complete Aviation Pay Scale and additional information regarding job openings can be found on the “Careers” section of PAA’s website: www.professionalaeronautics.com.

Flight Academy Selects Newest Director, Pilot Schools

LEESVILLE, LA (December 13, 2010) – Professional Aeronautics Academy selected Captain Mike Jackson as its newest Director of Pilot Schools. With this new assignment he will become the senior administrative officer, training manager, and coordinator of the company’s pilot schools directorate. Capt. Jackson is assuming the role previously held by Captain “Chip” Blankenship, who will retire to his home state of Georgia after over 30 years of aviation service. Capt. Blankenship defined the role of the DPS. “With the demanding requirements of this position, Capt. Jackson is the clear choice for the role. Mike brings a wealth of aviation knowledge to the team, and his military experience will prove invaluable to our current operations. We congratulate Chip on his retirement and welcome Mike to the team,” commented the current PAA President, Mr. J.R. Lynch.

Capt. Jackson will manage the training activities and personnel actions for the pilot schools directorate and ensure that a high level of safety and training is being met. Capt Jackson made his first visit to PAA’s Conroe Training Center to inspect the final stages of the school’s progress. The grand opening of the Conroe Training Center is the first of its kind at the airport and second training center in the PAA network. The opening is planned for Jan. 11, 2011. “Lone Star Executive Airport is an ideal airport to provide flight training. I’m very excited for the grand opening and to promote aviation involvement within the Conroe community,” he stated. Capt. Jackson also plans to visit Huntington, WV, the future location of the company’s third flight training center, before January.

Capt. Jackson brings over twenty years of military and civilian aviation experience to the company. His qualifications and capabilities will ensure that the company’s Instructor Pilots continue to deliver standardized and quality training at all PAA training centers.

Professional Aeronautics Academy has several upcoming events planned for the new year. For more information regarding flight training courses, prices, new campus openings, and upcoming events, please visit the company website at www.professionalaeronautics.com.
